Daniela Rea is an author journalist and director of the documentary “Eternity never surrendered.” Her texts have been anthologized in different books. She co-edited the books, Between the ashes, life stories in times of death, and Breaking the silence, 22 cries against censorship. Ms. Rea has received the PEN Club México Journalism Excellence Award (2013); Honorable Mention in National Award of Journalism (2016), the latter for collective projects; the Gabriel García Márquez Award for Journalism in Image (2017); and was the inaugural recipient of the Breach-Valdez Journalism and Human Rights Award given by the UN and the Embassy of France (2018).
