Sophie La Belle and the Miniature Cities by Gisela Heffes

Literal

Sophie La Belle and the Miniature Cities  is a novella written by Gisela Heffes in 2016. However, this book is more relevant than ever and so, we decided to take to the world of the audiobook in 2023. The novella  is a post-modern fairytale that tells the story of Sophie La Belle, a resident of the Continental City who designs miniature cities made out of everyday objects. The novella is a delightful audio book, read by Theresa Bakken, that slowly reveals its tender mysteries and why is so relevant. The author’s writing style is reminiscent of the magical meta fictions of Italo Calvino and the labyrinthine artistry of Jorge Luis Borges .

Please, enjoy the conversation between Samantha Schnee and the author apropos of the launching of the audio book . You can find the audiobook here
