David Miklos was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1970, and raised in Mexico, where he now lives. His first novel, La piel muerta, was published in 2005 and was followed by La gente extraña in 2006 and La hermana falsa in 2008; a trilogy about one’s origin as fiction. He has published four more novels –Brama (2012), No tendrás rostro (2013), Dorada (2014) and Miramar (2015)– and two short stories collections –La vida triestina (2010) and El abrazo de Cthulhu (2013)–. He is an associate professor of history and literature at Center for Research and Teaching in Economics (CIDE). La pampa imposible, his next novel, will be published in 2017 by Penguin Random House. Debris (Literal Publishing, 2016) is his first novel translated into English.
