In dreams I wrote
the very poem I wanted
to add to this book.
Writing it filled me with joy.
It was even titled already:
the one listed above.
And though I didn’t know what it said,
I remember it matched
in its form and content.
Very early in the morning,
as the light started waking me,
in silence burned one verse after another.
Before noon, I gathered up
the ashes off my desk.
