There is Something in the Wind

There is Something in the Wind

Hay algo en el viento

Wendolyn Lozano Tovar

Translated into English by Frank Aguilera

There is something in the wind
when it blows inward
a shedding of tree leaves.
A flight.
A time to part and become
no more than an exhalation.
To be again one with the tree,
with all trees.
To let go of the branches
the songs
the nests.
To release all dawns
and being nothing more
than a bird
without plumage other
than the air.
To know it’s time to undertake
a new journey
-in all directions.
To take a turn inward.
The wind now blows in
a blue from overseas
amidst the clouds
and will sing again
tomorrow at dawn
