Online Dream Workshop
Literal
What to Expect
There is no prior experience necessary to join. This group will help you gain a deeper understanding of your dreams while enhancing your self-awareness. In addition to working on dreams (every member will have an opportunity to bring forth their dream), we will also engage in brief meditations and discussions of dream related themes.
A Bit of History
Literal invites you to bring your dreams and explore them as the purest form of psyche’s expression. The most formal methods of dream analysis began in the medical field back in the 1900’s with Sigmund Freud, Austrian neurologist and father of psychoanalysis. However, the work of dreams has developed since from multiple disciplines. In this dream circle, we will base our theory from Jungian narratives which not only view dreams as a direct line to the unconscious, but also connect them to our personal symbology. Carl Jung, Swiss psychiatrist, would argue that all of psyche’s symbols are branches of collective archetypes, blueprints that Jung designated as the primordial psychological instincts. Within this perspective, dreams go far beyond being random movies that play in our brains at night; rather, they speak to us of an emotional reality that coexists with conscious living. Some would even claim that the inner world that dreams point us to feels far more real than the physical dimension we wake up in every day. Whether it be a feeling of curiosity, a yearning to go deeper or a pull towards greater self-awareness, we open our doors for you to find something new, something different and just maybe, something important.
